Plans for Upchurch University Center revealed

Longwood University's long-anticipated center already had a site and a name. Now, what it will look like is also known.

Plans for the Norman H. and Elsie Stossel Upchurch University Center were revealed Aug. 24th at the G.A.M.E., the annual pep rally and march that kicks off the athletics year. Among those in attendance were Elsie Upchurch, a 1943 graduate whose $4 million gift- the largest capital gift in the university's history - made the student center possible. Full Story.

IT Seeks Items for Time Capsule

Information Technology Services is seeking items to be placed in a time capsule that will depict technology and the history of Longwood University, specifically history of ITS and/or history of French (from Student Building thru Technology Center). We would love to get items such as interesting technology over the years and things that might typically be considered rather geeky or nerdy. Other personal sorts of items from previous residents of French are also requested. Our 25-year time capsule will be in the Technology Center. If you have any of these items, contact Lynn Chapman, IITS.
