Passing of Phyllis Mable

Phyllis L. Mable of Washington, D.C., former vice president for student affairs at Longwood University and a beloved figure here for nearly 20 years, died May 9, 2012, at George Washington University Hospital.  

Drew Hudson ’90, a close friend of Mable, said: “I spent the morning reading her cards from her many friends that she had saved throughout the years. Recounts of cards as far back as 1975 filled her last moments. I left her with the final words—‘You lived, you loved, you learned and you left a legacy.’”  Click here to read more.
